Founded in 1986 by its current managing director, VSG develops and sells 3D visualization software for scientific and industrial applications. The main clients are coming from the oil and gas industry, the medical world and the engineering field.

In 2008, VSG turned over € 8.5 million with a very healthy EBIT margin. The company has a staff of 50 employees, mainly IT engineers. 40 people are based in the Bordeaux headquarters. Sales and technical support are directly located on the main geographical markets: USA, UK, Germany and France.

In June 2009, the management of the company bought VSG from its previous shareholder: the American company Mercury for US$ 12 million. Three financiers also invested in this MBO: IRDI, TOURRETTE INVESTISSEMENTS et AQUITAINE EXPANSION. TOURRETTE INVESTISSEMENTS holds 8.5% of the shares.
